Get tax deductions as a gift giver

When you donate a gift to Swedo, you can get a tax deduction in Sweden. This applies to those who donate at least SEK 2,000 during a year to approved organizations.

Below you can see what is required to get a tax reduction. You can also read more at the Swedish Tax Agency

Conditions for receiving a tax deduction

As the donor, you must give at least SEK 200 to the same recipient on the same occasion. Gifts of less than SEK 200 do not count towards the deduction.

As a donor, you must give at least SEK 2,000 per year. This sum includes all your gifts to one or more approved recipients/organizations.

How much you can get

The deduction is 25%. If you give SEK 2,000 in a year, you will get SEK 500 back.

The maximum donated amount you can get deduction on is SEK 12,000 per year. The maximum amount you can get back is therefore SEK 3000 per year.

If you have given gifts for less than SEK 2,000 in one year, you will not receive a tax reduction.

We need your social security number

In order for us to send your gift details to the Swedish Tax Agency, we need your social security number. If you give by direct debit, you have already provided it.

If you give in other ways and we have not received your social security number at any time, you can contact us at info@swedoaid.org.
